Mazama Ridge touring - February 2005

Eric Hoffman, Eric Houtkooper, Jim (last name?), Agata and I teamed up for a short tour up Edith Creek and Mazama Ridge. It was my first time touring somewhere other than the Muir Snowfield on Mt. Rainier and it was good having both Eric's along to show me around. The snow conditions were great, but I found the runs a bit tame and somewhat short for my taste.

Agata stands below the lower moraine of the Paradise Glacier with summit of Mt. Rainier poking above the clouds.    Tracks lead out over Mazama Ridge area towards the toe of Little Tahoma.    Agata shreds creamed February corn (with a torn hip labrum we'd come to find out later) desceding 'back bowls'.    Long shadows and light powder on north aspects of Mazama Ridge.    Agata (bottom) and Eric make rooster tails down the 'back bowls'.
